F.A.Q.

My mum is going into hospital and will need a few weeks help once she is out to do things like clean and help prepare her food. Can you help?

Of course we can. Castle Care Scotland (Ltd) can provide anything from 1hr a day up to 24 hrs a day.
It’s entirely up to you..

What is self-directed support?

Self- directed support  allows people to choose how their support is provided, and gives you as much control as you want of your individual budget. The council will assess your need and you then have the option of SDS which you can use in a number of ways. For example personal care or to help with getting out and taking part in social classes. There are 4 options with SDS.
Option 1 – Direct Payments. A payment to allow you to arrange support to meet your agreed outcomes.
Option 2 – Individual service fund. Where the council or care provider like Castle Care holds the budget but you are in charge of how it is spent
Option 3 – Local Authority arranged support. The council will arrange your support to meet your care plan outcomes.
Option 4 – A combination of the above.

Am I eligible for SDS?

Everyone who is eligible for support can request SDS.
